The Comeback

And suddenly is the urge to write and express myself back.  It comes when I let go of mjukisbyxorna and leave Sweden.

Had an interesting trip to Zürich in an easyjet operated plan, with kind man with Parkinson on my side offering oreo cookies, making me realize so many things I cannot put down in words.

Life is a short trip.
Almost immediately became an incarnated Swiss, after landing and purchasing my halbtax, finding out that my information was still in the Schweizerische Bundesbahnen’s database. They like “Ordnung” here.  And I am welcomed back.

Napa

One of the most perfect areas in the world is Midwest California, with San Francisco, the ocean and Napa Valley. Here you will find it all; great culture, amazing food, shopping and wine. If you are heading to Napa Valley, take the Golden Gate Bridge and enjoy the beautiful scenery overlooking the city. Once you are in Napa, make sure your first stop is Robert Mondavi vinery… and that you have a driver ;-)

Travel Plans

Wish-List:
1.       Canada – Road trip in the Rockies (Yes! I was not done there)
2.       Peru
3.       South Africa

Actual:
1.       Barcelona
2.
3.

Still after my failing endeavor in Canada I am looking outside Sweden’s border. In fact, even Europe’s border. Travelling in my point of view is no longer an activity, it is a life style. Too bad it’s pretty high maintenance. And too bad that life comes with commitments, let say, like a Masters Thesis.

Where Do You Go When You Are Lonely?

You might ask yourself what the hell I am doing on the other side of the globe, and yes, I have asked myself the same thing many times the past week. The truth is that it is about exploration – if you do not try you never know. And as many of you know I hate uncertainties. But at least, now I know. And it is not going to break me.

While many of you spent Valentine’s Day with your love and family, I spend mine at Starbucks. I guess it is a different kind of love I feel for this place. But never underestimate a familiar face...

A more suitable Valentine's song for my part is this one (has to be country since I am in Alberta)

Friends

"I always felt that the great high privilege, relief and comfort of friendship, was that one had to explain nothing"

The Iron Lady

Ok, so one of the reasons I decided to go and spend some time in Canada was to experience a beautiful winter wonderland, going skiing in the Rockies and spend enormous amount of time with my camera capturing the beauty of the cold. I could so far not be more wrong. When I landed about a week ago it was war 9 plus Celsius and since then we have barely been below zero. I am terribly jealous of the magnificent winter that has hit Europe (although I do understand it has it disadvantages). But please do me a favor and enjoy it. It is so much better than sitting in a grey Alberta landscape.

Since experience the Canadian winter has proven to be a disappointing activity I have now turned to more indoor activities – Like going to the movies. Today I went to see “The Iron Lady” with Maryl Streep. I am sorry to reveal the news but if this lady does not get the Oscar for best actress in leading role, this world is truly going down. Excellent performance portraying one of the most powerful woman in the UK history. In short: SEE IT!

Lets end the evening with a classic from Sting; Fields of Gold

Travel nerves…

I am starting to get nervous about this new adventure I am about to embark on. But at the same time I am proud of myself for taking the opportunity

If not now - then when?

I know when I see the sun settle in the Rockies that I will never regret this adventure.  Just like we watched the sunrise in the California desert.

Meet My New Friends...

Blackie and Brownie

I'll be back

A Flight Marathon

San Jose - Mexico City - Los Angeles - London - Copenhagen - Malmoe

I am taking the two things I consider home, my suitcase and M, and move east

Realizing, we are soon separated by both distance and time

And it feels cold
